An inconvenient truth

One of the most critical issues todays world needs to address is climate change. Whilst revising for my AS geography exams, I took the time to purchase and watch Al Gores: An Inconvenient Truth.

If you have yet to see this, then I would advise watching it. It completely changed my perspective of climate change - I wasn't a skeptic beforehand, but now I know i'll never be one. Hard, solid evidence is provided which really emphasises the destruction we are causing to our planet.

It's good but extremely one sided. He also messes with statistics to promote his side of the argument (no numbers on y-axis etc.). While I agree with him on most points, and I think we should act on climate change, not everything he says is right...

I agree with Rondariel.

It's no so easy to act.

Can you imagine there are still people/governments denying the whole climate issue???
But... You must pose some questions on the role / purpose of Gore in this whole thing. He presents himself as a climate pope. With what purpose?

I've seen this before and, as you said, it is very eye-opening although I believe some of it to be conspiracy theory.

yeah we watched this in school a couple of years ago, despite it being completely one sided, it did strengthen my opinion on climate change. Would also recommend this movie to anyone who hasn't seen it yet.

i watched it, its a propaganda piece. Completely one sided and full of stretched truths.

The climate of the earth has been changing since the dawn of time. Regardless of the amount of carbon in the air.

Some fun facts left out are that a single Volcanic eruption can produce more carbon in the atmosphere then a whole year of purposeful polluting.

The earths axis is still tilting more and the magnetic poles are shifting which are leading to some of the changes blamed on carbon.

The carbon in the atmosphere it what retains the suns heat on our planet, and trying to reduce it to the level that some environmentalists want would actually be detrimental to our planet.

TL:DR

"going green" means you'll spend more money one green products out of guilt

Climate change? Fuck that, come see what the weather is like in Canada...

i saw it a year ago. don't take this as 100% truth

Fruffles. I also live in Canada, and where I am we didn't get much snow at all until after christmas.
What other people are saying is true, though. You should take it with a grain of salt, given its propaganda-like approach.

I just don't think there is enough records to really prove if the climate it changing or not. We have no clue what the climate was like before records were established. I do believe he has a few valid points, however.

Gore has a few valid points to the climate change, but the media and commercial government are exaggeration it way too much.
