Superpowers

While the USA still dominates global power, China is closely pursuing for the top spot of Superpower on this planet. With a beyond massive industrial revolution starting with Mao introducing Communism and industry targets, China has soared to become the economic and industrial centre of this world.

One accomplishment which was announced today is that China has created a supercomputer to coincide with its superpower status.  China's Tianhe-1A supercomputer is capable of carrying out more than 2.5 thousand trillion calculations a second, compared to America's XT5 Jaguar which can only perform 1.75 petaflops per second (one petaflop is the equivalent of 1,000 trillion calculations per second - pretty sure my GFX card performs like, 100million per second and that's pretty hench for home use standards).

Across the pond, America has announced that it isn't even tracking its expenditures over in Afghanistan. For a country which has 1 in 6 people working in a military job, it seems like a bottomless pit of expenditures fighting the war in Afghanistan - trying to stablise the infrastructure of the country by providing $55billion of aid in which even America admits they can't see any noticable improvements.

Britain better start to suck up to China soon rather than America as soon they'll be the ones with -all- the power (according to my grandad... But he knows a lot, he's lived through a lot and has seen a lot happen, so why go against what he says). After studying superpowers, i'm pretty sure we'll be needing to learn Chinese in the near future rather than English.

Kinda just rambling, and should probably provide evidence and go into more detail - i'd like too, but i'm new to blogging and just getting a few slapdash posts onto the scene so I can get into the habit.
